VMWARE 101
VMWARE 101

i hope i am posting in right section, i am try to simulate a computer logging to a domain, by using vmware, i created a vmware machine (server 2003) and i am using a local xp machine, and once i created a domain on the vmware (server 2003) machine it ask it to be restared, and xp machine has also has to be logged off, but i can not logoff becasue fast user switching is disabled in the xp machine, i plan to do it in reverse, sever2003 local install and create a vmware machine (xp) but i can't find a server 2003 driver for my onboard lan, a little help would be appreciated, and what vmware product do i use vmware essex or server, i am kinda confused at this point, a little clarification would be appreciated Smiling

Sir did you try using the vmware workstation?

yes, i am using vmware workstation, do i use vmware server? thanks for the replay

If your host OS is Windows XP Pro and your guest OS is Windows Server 2003, there should be no problem rebooting your guest OS if your are using a VMware Workstation, unless you join the host OS (WinXP) in your guest OS domain it will eventually ask you also to reboot the host OS

If you have enough physical memory, you can create multiple virtual machines and install multiple guest OS without replacing or reformatting your host OS.

This is 100% right.
