Project Rationale

1. The PH-LWUG encourages the promotion of Opensource Community learning, IT Solutions, and Achieving a common goal on cutting edge IT solution. The IT skills and effective communication of PH-LWUG core, is a key competencies for IT learning and development in the IT industry.
2. The Project "BlockMailer" will help IT people to cut their budget from spending Network Appliance or Software in maintaining a SPAM Free and virus free environment on Small & Medium Business, Schools, and Government networks. The Core Team has been advanced through research strategy and workshops identifying the essence of a good method to make an enterprise spam filtering Distro.

The PH-LWUG Project seeks to promote the wider goals of:

• Promoting Opensource
• OutReach on school & Government on IT Solutions & Seminars
• Wider use of IT tools for learning
• Promoting of skills to encourage IT learning for Philippine IT Community

Objectives

1. Provide Cost-Effective IT Solutions. Giving an alternate solutions on Schools and Government on how to prevent viruses and spam on low cost.
2. Promote Opensource Solutions. Make stand that opensource software is a powerful solutions and an eye-opener of wider ideas.
