Sa mg VMware experts, meron na ba na ka encounter ng ganitong issue sa ESXi 4.0? Ang scenario is after mag totally crashed ang isang hard drive (di available sa vSphere client kapag tinignan sa Configuration>Storage/Storage Devices), nireplaced ng bagong disk.  After nyan, etong isang hard drive na existing na before pa nagyari yung hd disaster, ang status nya naging "Dead" pero available sa  vSphere client di kagaya nung nagcrashed.

hehe...

Okay bro try ko in simple explanation.

1 Box running ESXi 4.0 with 3 Hard Drives (ie. HD1, HD2, HD3). HD2 crashed (Undetectable sa vSphere client only HD1 and HD3 are available) so pinalatan siya (NHD2) . Now looking on vSphere, all the 3 harddrives (HD1, NHD2, HD3) are available/recognized but 1 (HD3) shows status "Dead" and no longer accessible.

Napalinaw ko ba?

bro ewn ko lang kung tama ako ah. yung box mo ba nka raid? kung nag palit ka ng HD try to check the firmware ng hardrive mo kasi mostly ang server pag kalagay  mo ng new HD kailangan mo i update ang firmware nya. 2 beses na kasi nang yari sa akin yan pag dating sa pag papalit ng HD sa server.

di ko alam kung applicable sayo yun bro pero isipin ko kng may iba pang solution.

Binigyan mo ko ng idea bro. Possible nga na firmware at oo naka Raid 1 yung HD2 at HD3. Nagfail yung HD2 na Seagate which is nalaman ko na may bug nga sa firmware so baka etong HD3, na Seagate din e ganito na ang kaso. Yung gumagana na HDs e Western Digital na.
